Our Story:
In my twenties I adopted my first Golden Retriever. This beautiful dog was named Charlie. From the moment his little puppy paw fell into my hand, we became inseparable friends. Charlie and I went on walks, hikes, and many adventures. For the entire 12 years of his wonderful life he was my best friend, food tester, and companion.
When I met my wife, it was in no small part because of Charlie. He had a way of bringing people together. He was there as my family started, and grew. He was there to kiss our first child when we came home from the hospital.
Charlie opened up a new life for us. He brought us together. He helped us grow as people and as a family. He helped nurture our love for Goldens through his kind and calm nature. It’s because of Charlie we found Olivia; and it’s because of Charlie that we have his grand nephew Leif.
Breeding Philosophy:
Our dogs, first and foremost are part of our family. They are with us every day; they sleep in our bed; they play with our children; they add joy and fulfillment to our lives. If it’s not muddy paws from hikes, it’s full bellies and cuddling on the couch. If for any reason our female or male are not healthy enough to breed, they will not breed.
We strive to be and stay in compliance with the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program which requires OFA testing and genetic testing (submitted/results pending). If our dogs are unable to produce friendly, sociable, and healthy puppies we will not breed them.
There are so many good dogs out there. You can find that spark with a shelter dog. You can find that strong bond with another breeder. That’s great! We hope everyone finds the dog that they will love fully. A good dog can come from anywhere. We hope that you find our good dog with us.
We believe that there should be a home for every dog. However, we believe in ethical breeding that considers the lineage, health, temperament and disposition of the puppies. This is the distinction between our and a Shelter dogs. Knowing where the puppy came from and any associated history and health history is incredibly important. If you can meet the Dame and Sire, give them pets and rub their bellies, you can get a good feel for what the temperament of your puppy will be.
Our puppies will stay with their mother for at least 8 weeks. They will be in our family home, and not an exterior structure. They will be cared for, handled, and given affection on a daily basis. They will be de-wormed and have their first set of vaccines following the AKC puppy shot schedule. We are more than open to sharing pictures and videos of the puppy you bond with, as they mature and get ready for their new home.
We would love to have follow up pictures and stories from those families that feel our puppies are the right fit for their household. We believe our puppies will bring the same warmth, friendship, and companionship to their owner’s lives.
We are located in the Broome County New York and only intend to do a maximum of 1 breeding a year.
